Frequently asked questions

How do I contact you? – My phone number is 07771 438 583 or you can send me an email using the form on the contact page.

How many sessions will I need? – This varies as everyone is different as are their personal needs. I work in an open-ended way rather than a set number of sessions and suggest working together for 6 sessions and then reviewing the process to see if we are on track.

Short-term counselling focuses on a specific problem, such as a major life event and for some people, this is sufficient to resolve the particular issue that has brought them to see a therapist. For others, longer-term therapy which is a deeper exploration of their situation is more useful.
Before starting our work together it isn’t possible to predict exactly how many sessions you will need. We can regularly review how sessions are going, looking back at how sessions have been so far and what you would like to focus on in future sessions.

How much will each session cost? – The cost is £60 per 50 minute session.

What about confidentiality? – I take your confidentiality very seriously, and this will be discussed with you in our first meeting.

How can I get the most from my counselling?

There are a few ways you can get the most from your experience of counselling:

  • Keep an open mind and trust the process.
  • It is important to be honest.  I am not here to judge you, I am only here to help you.
  • Personal commitment is crucial to your success.  Counselling isn’t ‘done to you’, it’s about us working together.
